Statement of FaithAs a ministry of Hesperia Community Church, Hesperia Christian School holds to the Statement of Faith of the church. A full statement is available upon request. The Statement of Faith is made up of these articles of faith and demonstrates what we believe:
The Bible (II Tim. 3:16-17)
The inspired Word of God...without error...our authority for life and belief.
The Trinity (Isaiah 45:21-22)
One God revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ (John 1:1-14)
The eternal Son of God, came to earth...born of a virgin...died on the cross...buried...rose again to reconcile us with the Father...intercedes for us at the right hand of God.
Holy Spirit (John 16:5-15, I Cor. 13)
Convicts...regenerates...enters each believer at salvation. While we believe that certain gifts (such as, the gift of tongues) have ceased in the New Testament sense, we believe the Holy Spirit continues to give spiritual ability to believers...fills for power, teaching and service as they yield to His control.
The Fall (Genesis 1:27)
Man was created innocent...he disobeyed God's command...fell...became subject to eternal separation from God.
Salvation (Eph. 1:7)
Trusting Christ alone and what He did on the cross, brings forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
Faith (Eph. 2:8,9)
Salvation is secured by faith alone.
God's Plan (Eph. 1:4)
His purpose for saving men...to have a people of His own...made possible by giving His Son and the influence of the Holy Spirit on all believers.
Security (Rom. 8:35-39)
In the person of Jesus Christ, "kept by the power of God, through faith, unto salvation"..thus, believers cannot lose their salvation.
The Ordinances (Matt. 28:19-20. I Cor. 11:17-24)
Water Baptism is the immersion in water of the believer and symbolizes...our death with Christ on the cross and resurrection with Him. The Lord's Supper is a memorial of His undying love, symbolizing the continuous feeding and nourishing by Christ.
The Church (Col. 1:18)
The Spiritual Church includes all believers...only fully known to God. The Visible Church...a local assembly of believers.
Sunday (Rev. 1:10)
The first day of the week is the Lord's Day...for the church to gather and worship the Lord.
Civil Government (Rom. 13:1-7)
Of divine appointment for the good of human society. Government officials are to be prayed for, honored and obeyed. Civil disobedience is rebellion against God unless the government requires things which are in direct conflict with the will of Christ.
The Rapture (John 14:1-3,I Thess. 4:13-18)
The coming of the Lord to receive His saints...the next great event in the fulfillment of prophecy...followed by Tribulation while believers are in Heaven...after which the Lord Jesus Christ will return to earth to establish His Millennial Kingdom.
The Resurrection (I Cor. 15, Rev. 20:11-15)
The Resurrection of the just (for blessedness and reward) and of the unjust (for judgement and eternal doom).
Angels (Heb. 1:14, Matt. 25:41)
A spiritual order of created beings to be ministering spirits. Satan is a fallen angel who has a number of demons (fallen angels) who serve him as active enemies of God.
